Gilbert Rataezyk spent most of his childhood years growing up in Saudi Arabia. His passion for cinematography began fairly young as he experimented with DVTim cameras and made little home-made shorts and music videos. However, it wasn't until he arrived at the University of Arizona that he began to pursue a career as a cinematographer. As a junior, Gilbert was won the Pollution Studios Award for Excellence in Cinematography for his work on the senior thesis film, My Worthless Ambition,
and has continued to shoot three more during his senior year. After graduation, Gilbert will be pursuing a career as a Director of Photography.
