JURORS
Katie Walsh is a Los Angeles-based film critic and journalist, reviewing weekly film releases for the Tribune News Service, Los Angeles Times, and The Playlist, while occasionally making appearances on KCRW’s Press Play with Madeline Brand and KPCC’s Film Week.
Her work has also appeared in Playboy, Slate, The Hairpin, indieWIRE, Women and Hollywood, Town & Country, Movieline, Nonfics, and more. Katie is also member of the LA Film Critics Association. She earned her B.A. in Film Studies from Wesleyan University, and her M.A. in Critical Studies from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Rob Gonzalez hails from the Rocky Mountains of Idaho where he grew up white water rafting, skiing, and re-watching Jurassic Park regularly. He originally joined Austin Film Festival immediately upon moving to Austin in 2016 in order to intern in the AFF Film Department. Since then he served as the Volunteer Manager and now as now managing over six thousand film submissions as Film Competition Director.
In his free time Rob enjoys being outside in the hills and on the water, drawing, watching action movies, and the art of fermentation and brewing.
Allison Vanore is an Emmy Award-winning producer of the acclaimed series “After Forever.” Between 2015-2019 Allison served as the Head of Production for Canvas Media Studios where she produced pilots and series such as “Wear It to Win It” for Facebook and “Vanity” which garnered her first Emmy nomination in 2016. Allison’s latest feature credits include the award-winning films “Buck Run” (Palm Springs 2019), “The Rainbow Experiment” (Gravitas 2018), and “42 Seconds of Happiness” (Indie Rights 2017).
Allison’s latest series credits include five-time Emmy Award winning “After Forever” (Amazon 2018-), “Dark/Web” (Amazon 2019-), and “Limelight” (Yarn app 2018-19). Allison is published in the book “Thriving in Hollywood!: Tenacious Tales & Tactics from Ms. In The Biz.” She also serves on the executive board of Women in Media, an organization that advocates for gender parity in the entertainment industry.
